How well do you know our communities?

How well do you know our communities?

How well do you know our communities?

This morning, the Charles River Regional Chamber is launching a multi-media campaign to promote visiting NewtonNeedhamWatertown and Wellesley to visitors.

We’re calling it “Take A Trip Up the Charles.

The goal is to support our local economy by highlighting scenic, historic, cultural, recreational, lodging, dining and retail destinations that make our communities unique to those visiting the region, or from the next community over.

The $35,000 campaign is funded by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism in partnership with our four municipalities. It includes a series of videos by Needham-based Last Minute Productionsa map illustration by local artist Kit Collins, "Dream Day" trip itineraries from Newton-based ActiveTravels and our own searchable shopdine and hotel directories.

We’ll be supporting the effort with online advertising, paid and earned social media, and printed postcards throughout the summer and into the fall.

Like any good trip, we begin with a guided tour, hosted by the chamber’s Member Services Manager Maxime Issac.

Please take a few minutes to enjoy the short video...

Thanks for watching! For more, visit our campaign’s dedicated web site.

Special thanks to the chamber's VP of Operations Katherine Herer for orchestrating this initiative's many facets. Thanks also to Traktek Partners, Elisif Photographythe Greater Boston Visitors and Convention Bureau and our many member volunteers and community partners for supporting this project.

Look for updates and ways you and your business or nonprofit can be a part of this effort in the weeks to come.

See you along the Charles,

Greg Reibman (he, him)
