About Us

Founded in 2019 by Jonathan Cavanagh and Michael Chieffalo, CACH is a design-driven architecture studio based in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Our practice is built around three core beliefs:

- Architecture must serve to promote healthy lives, engaging communities, and be an active force for good in the production of a sustainable built environment.
- Historic resources are an important dimension of sustainability and the cultural identity of a place. This identity is most salient, however, when brought into dialogue with evolving aesthetic sensibilities, new building technology, and modes of living and working.
- As architects, we are a member of a team whose mission should be to deliver projects to clients and other stakeholders that promote the above beliefs.

Fundamental to our work is a commitment to social and environmental sustainability. We believe that design can play an important role in mitigating and reversing the adverse effects of climate change. Whether through cutting-edge building science or thoughtful deployment of material resources, we are committed to pursuing projects that offer opportunities to expand our collective responsibility to produce a healthier planet.

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability we are Passive House certified and a signatory of the AIA 2030 Commitment.
