Annual Newton Mayor's Community Praye...
Description
The Harmony Foundation and Mayor Ruthanne Fuller invite you to attend the Newton Community for the 44th Annual Theodore D. Mann Newton Mayor's Community Prayer Breakfast with featured speaker Amey Victoria Adkins-Jones).
Dr. Adkins-Jones is Assistant Professor of Theology and Core Faculty in the African and African Diaspora Studies Program at Boston College. A licensed Baptist Minister, Dr. Adkins-Jones also brings pastoral sensibility to her work and teaching around issues of identity and justice.
The annual Mayor’s Community Prayer Breakfast, begun by Mayor Theodore D. Mann in 1975, brings together hundreds of Newton residents, public officials, business people and clergy of all faiths and backgrounds to celebrate and renew their commitment to our community and to each other.
Proceeds from this event will be used to support the vital work of the Foundation for Racial, Ethnic and Religious Harmony. Over the past thirty years, the Harmony Foundation has provided grants to Newton community-focused organizations working to promote tolerance, respect and understanding among the diverse ethnic, religious, racial and language populations encompassed within the City of Newton. This diversity is a source of community strength.
This is not a chamber event. We support the foundation by making our portal available to market tickets.
