About Us

Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston (JBBBS) transforms the lives of children, adults with disabilties and their families through the power of one-to-one relationships. JBBBS is proud to serve children, adults, and families across race, religion, ethnicity, background, sexual orientation, gender identity and ability in over 90 cities and towns in Greater Boston.

JBBBS offers a Children's Mentoring Program for children (6-18) and includes an LGBTQ+ Youth Mentoring Program, a College Mentoring Program, and a newly launched, first of its kind, mentoring program for children with Type 1 Diabetes(T1D). Matches in the Children's Program meet twice a month, mostly weekends, for at least one year. Match support provided by Clinical Match Specialists. Programs are free to children and families with monthly activities offered as well as opportunities for summer camp and college scholarships.

JBBBS also offers the Friend 2 Friend (F2F) Adults (18+) with Disabilties Friendship Program that provides adults with mild to moderate disabilities the opportunity to make new friends, socialize, stay active and be connected to the community. Our volunteers (21+) meet with Friends once a month and spend a few hours with their Friend sharing mutual interest and activities for at least one year.

JBBBS is seeking volunteers 21+ who want to make an impact in the lives of others in our community. JBBBS welcomes the enrollment of children and adults with disabilities who could benefit from our programs including LGBTQ+ Youth and Youth living with Type 1 Diabetes.
