Description
Don't miss the region's largest annual gathering of business professionals, civic and community leaders, will once again be presented by Needham Bank. Over 500 attendees are expected.
The morning will feature a keynote address by Linda Henry, Managing Director at Globe Media Partners. J.C. Monahan, evening anchor at NBC10 Boston will be the event's emcee. The chamber will present the prestigous R.L. Tennant Award to Josephine McNeil and recognize two local students with the annual "Young Entrepreneurs Award," sponsored by Kaplansky Insurance. The program will also include remarks from Newton Mayor Ruthanne Fuller, Needham Select Board Chair John Bulian and other guests.
Featured Speaker: Linda Henry, Managing Director at Boston Globe Media Partners
At Boston Globe Media Partners, Henry oversees the operations at the Globe, boston.com and STAT news. Henry is the Globe's owner and publisher and principal owner of the Boston Red Sox.
Henry's appearance comes at a time of great upheaval in the media world but also just as the Globe, in partnership with the Boston University School of Journalism, has launched a pilot project in Newton designed to expand news coverage in the city.
Emcee: J.C. Monahan, Evening Anchor, NBC10 Boston and necn
An emmy-award winning journalist and Newton resident, J.C. Monahan joined NBC Boston 10 in 2017.
R. L. Tennant Award: Josephine McNeil
McNeil co-founded CAN-DO (Citizens for Affordable Housing in Newton Development Organization), the non-profit developer of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families in 1994 and continued in that role prior to her retirement in 2017. She has remained an active tireless advocate for services for low wage workers, domestic violence survivors and children; most recently with U-CHAN (Uniting Citizens for Housing Affordability in Newton).
